Colts-Seahawks-Green Bay, The Matt Hasselbeck Connection

The biggest reason I'm a Seahawk Hater, if you will, is because of Matt Hasselbeck.  He is smug, arrogant and not nearly as good as he thinks he is.  Having to witness his personality so often a decade or so ago, I came to dislike him and the team.  His career is best remembered by saying "We want the ball and we're going to score", just before throwing a "pick-six" in overtime for a loss to Green Bay in the 2003-04 playoffs, while a member of the Seattle Seahawks.  In hindsight, Matt Hasselbeck was the 187th pick by the Green Bay Packers.  Perhaps when he said "we're going to score", he was referring to the Packers, the team that originally drafted him.  He was the 187th pick, a number known for 'murder' among police officers.  On this play, he 'murdered' many Seahawks faithful.

These days, Matt Hasselbeck plays as a backup for the Indianapolis Colts.  Making matters more interesting, he is currently 39-years old, matching the life numbers of the respective quarterbacks for the Seattle Seahawks, and Indianapolis Colts.

Andrew Luck, September 12, 1989.
  • 9/12/1989 = 9+1+2+1+9+8+9 = 39
Russell Wilson, November 29, 1988.
  • 11/29/1988 = 1+1+2+9+1+9+8+8 = 39
Again, Matt Hasselbeck, who played for these two teams, is 39-years old at this moment.

Making matters more curious, this year's Super Bowl is in Arizona.
  • Arizona = 1+9+9+8+6+5+1 = 39
