Coincidences, 33 and Me

When I moved to the neighborhood I live in now, I met an older single woman who reminds me a lot of my own mother.  Both women have cleaned homes for a living and both women are open-minded and a wee bit rebellious.  At the time of moving in, I found it a bit coincidental that my new neighbor was so much like my own mother and I still think much the same today.  Lately, I've been learning about numerology and blogging about what I learn.  Much of what I write has to do with the number thirty-three, its repeating occurrences in strange places, and the possible powers that the number has.  It turns out my neighbor, who is much like my mother, has a direct thirty-three connection.  That connection is her name, Kim.

• Kim = 11+9+13 = 33

Just today I was telling Kim about a job interview I have tomorrow in the social work field.  On the agency's website page, it proudly proclaims this is their thirty-third year of operating.  That isn't the only thirty-three connection they have.  The agency's name is Sunrise.

• Sunrise = 1+3+5+9+9+1+5 = 33

When I told Kim about this, her mouth dropped open and she said, "the name of my cleaning business is "Sunrise Cleaning".  I laughed and told her about a similar story pertaining to my sister, her husband, and their child.  That story goes as follows:  My sister and her husband both have fathers who have birthdays on March 11, or 3/11.  When they had their first child, they named him Sam.  Sam has the same numerology as Kim.

• Sam = 19+1+13 = 33

If you missed it, the outcome of multiplying three and eleven (from March 11) is thirty-three.  When my sister and her husband were trying to determine the name of their first born, they had many options to choose from, but something lead them to Sam.  It should also be noted that Sam was born in the thirty-third state, Oregon; as was his uncle who is the author of this blog.

Is it all a coincidence, or is there a power or energy the number puts off, that attracts us to it as well as it to us?  This is something I am trying to figure out at this time in my life, and based on all the historical and religious evidence that there is something sacred about the number thirty-three, and the strange coincidences that are occurring in my life with the number 33, as well as other numbers, I'm starting to believe.

On a side note, I want to share a little bit more about me moving to the home I now live in.  In December of 2011, I experienced this powerful urge to buy a home.  That day I began doing research and came across one house in particular that had gone on the market the exact same day I received the urge to buy a home.  Long story short, that house is the house I ended up buying and now live in, where I also have the nice lady Kim as my neighbor.  Also across the street, I have the father of an ex-coworker who I got to know very well when I first moved to Seattle, and next to him, the friend of a girl I briefly dated- small world.

It should be noted that when I got the urge to buy the home, I was feeling a bit paranoid about living in downtown Seattle during the passage of the National Defense Authorization Act, which was happening at this very same time.  I felt that the possibility of Martial Law, or something worse, might be on the horizon.  Honestly, why else would our elected officials be passing laws that state the country is an active battleground in the war on terrorism where anyone can be arrested and detained if suspected of being a terrorist?  That is a far cry from where I thought I was growing up.  Anyhow, that paranoia made me look for an affordable home on the outskirts of Seattle.  The home I found and purchased turned out to be located across the street from something I overlooked.  It turns out the facility across the street is one of ten in the country, and happens to be the last resort FEMA base for FEMA Region X, representing the states of Alaska, Washington, Oregon and Idaho.  Should my worst fears be realized, I've moved to a place where I'm literally a stone's throw from what I hope would be a safe place to go.
