A knight is a person granted an honorary title of knighthood by a Monarch or other political leader for service to the British Monarch or country, especially in a military capacity. Historically, in Europe, knighthood has been conferred upon mounted warriors. During the High Middle Ages knighthood was considered a class of lower nobility. By the Late Middle Ages, the rank had become associated with the ideals of chivalry, a code of conduct for the perfect court Christian warrior. Since the Early Modern period, the title of knight is purely honorific, usually bestowed by a monarch, as in the British honours system, often for non-military service to the country. Often, a knight was a vassal who served as a fighter for a lord, with payment in the form of land holdings. The lords trusted the knights, who were skilled in battle on horseback.  A knight also happens to be someone with 33 numerology.

Here is a list of Knights, from the first ever in 1904, Christian Conrad (notice the CC initials - CC = 33) to the most recent.  It is interesting to note that Ted Kennedy became a knight on March 4, 2009, and died four months later, on August 25, 2009.  He was born February 22, 1932.

Ted Kennedy was just shy of 47-years as a Senator of Massachusetts before his death.

Let us close by looking at a U.K. born Knight, Elton John, the gay singing legend.  If anyone made gay cool before it was openly cool, it was Elton John.
