Personally, I remember the day Dale Earnhardt died, and what surprised me so much that day, is just how big of news it was.  To me, at the time, I couldn't understand why everyone was talking about it, or why it was so surprising.  You would think, men driving at 200 miles per hour, in circles, are destined to die sometimes....
