26 74 133 | John Montefusco's No Hitter for the Giants of May 25, 1976

  • John = 10+15+8+14 = 47
  • Montefusco = 13+15+14+20+5+6+21+19+3+15 = 131
  • John Montefusco = 178
  • John = 1+6+8+5 = 20
  • Joseph = 1+6+1+5+7+8 = 28/37
  • Montefusco = 4+6+5+2+5+6+3+1+3+6 = 41/50
  • John Montefusco = 61/70
  • John Joseph Montefusco = 89/107
  • John Joseph Montefusco Jr. = 99/109
John was born May 25, 1950.
  • 5/25/1950 = 5+25+19+50 = 99 (John Joseph Montefusco Jr. = 99)
  • 5/25/1950 = 5+2+5+1+9+5+0 = 27 (MLB = 27)
  • 5/25/50 = 5+25+50 = 80
    • Eighty = 5+9+7+8+20+25 = 74
Notice that John joined the Giants in '74, and threw his only career no hitter for their 74th win, in the '76 season.  Bother numbers are quite special.  John also wore the #26, the "God Number".  Notice in the last post, the number 26 was quite central to the Giants no hitter I wrote about.  Interestingly enough, the same person asked me to research these two no hitters, so here we are.

The date of the no hitter is also curious.  In the below numerology method, it is the date of each calendar year that yields the largest numerology value, no other day will match.  Also, September 29 leaves 93 days remaining in the year.
  • 9/29/1976 = 9+2+9+1+9+7+6 = 43
  • 9/29/1976 = 9+29+19+76 = 133
  • 9/29/76 = 9+29+76 = 114
This game was pitched in Atlanta, on the 33rd Parallel North.  As you can see, it was a throw away game, so if it was rigged, perhaps it was just to bring some attention to two struggling teams.

This was the 198th no hitter in baseball history.
