The throw to home plate from first baseman Duda was such an obvious intentional miss.

DeleteMaybe you should try to make that throw then if it's so easy? The game and potentially the season is on the line and there is an unexpected break towards the plate. Duda panicked and rushed the throw. An obvious and unsurprising human reaction and occurrence. There was no "intentional miss". Please. People like you need medication.

DeleteI know an 8 year old who can throw more accurately than that. Surrre, he panicked. His throwing motion was completely lackadaisical with no effort of accuracy whether the runner on third made him panicky or not. Tell me, What is so unexpected about the runner trying for home in that situation? Dude, if you can't see it you're the one who needs medication. This happens all the time in sports.

If you know this detail about me, then surely you know this blog is about much bigger things than making sure each and every one of my sports predictions is dead on. Any fools can see that what I am predicting, and the way I am making the predictions, has a lot of merit... but still needs some work.

ReplyDeleteI think it is because these people are cruel, and they know breaking New York's hearts is breaking a lot of hearts at once. Surely there are more people hurting in New York then there are people gloating of the Kansas City Royals win. Also, I thought about something I wrote about earlier this year.... what a HUGE YEAR it was for the Royal Family... That came right into my mind as Familia was on the mound...

I'm sure many of my fellow Mets fans are prolly in tears right now. :( However, my heart aches so much more knowing everything is rigged, and I'm relieved I did not pay the big bucks for a ticket to one of these World Series games. I know there are some Royals fans taunting heartbroken Mets fans right now on Facebook. They were doing the same thing last night...very sad..

DeleteThat throw home was simply awful. It isn't like these guys haven't practiced these situations their whole career. If one looks where Hosmer is when the First baseman has the ball, a ball thrown anywhere close, nails Hosmer. The Mets should have won this game obviously.

ReplyDeleteI think the numbers don't dictate who the winner is necessarily. As Zach shows when talking about teams 'falling on their numbers', maybe it's just that a NY team is supposed to be in the World Series on this date so that all the 111's line up.
ReplyDeleteIt really is amazing to watch sports now, knowing that it's scripted. When I turned the TV back on and Joe Buck immediately says "Matt Harvey leaves the game with 111 pitches." I laughed my ass off. Of course he did! And now I watch "my" teams play and wonder how I didn't see this stuff all along. It's clear as fucking day.
I totally agree with you G.S. As a life long Detroit Tiger fan I knew something was up when they played in the World Series with Boston. How could Detroit play so good all year then screw it up so bad at the end! Eventually Zack and many his many contributors will be predicting games and other events with a lot more accuracy.

Yeah, I'm an Atlanta sports fan so I've seen my share of teams inexplicably coming up short. I watched the Falcons game today and just laughed at these "out of the blue" turnovers that gave the game to Tampa Bay on a platter. All the sudden they can't execute simple hand-offs without fumbling, etc. and it's so obviously by design.
DeleteIn the Saints game a few weeks ago when the Falcons fell on their number, they also performed the same act of unforced turnovers. Not to mention, they had Steve Gleason at the stadium, who is the guy with a statue erected for his blocked punt for a TD against the Falcons on the re-opening game of the Super Dome after Katrina. The pre-game had an "interview" with him, and it was a Katrina love fest from minute one of the broadcast. During the game, the camera cuts to show him in the crowd, and on the very next play...a blocked punt for a touchdown! LOL Surely it wasn't scripted at all!

DeleteBeing on the autism spectrum and an empath (birthday is 10/16/74), my heart truly goes out to all the sports fans who become so emotionally invested in their teams for many years, often an entire lifetime. These rigged games are beyond heartbreaking. The positive energy I felt for the Mets all year finally shifted on Halloween, and during the game last night, I actually started feeling sick (splitting headache and upset stomach), even as I watched my favorite player, Number 33, pitch a near flawless game. I knew the loss was coming, and I felt it for the thousands and thousands of fans all over NY. I agree with Zach that the ~Evil People~ need to be stopped...P.S. The Captain David Wright's face in the dugout after the game spoke a thousand words...
ReplyDeleteShelli, I'm not a Met fan but I was rooting for them because I was sick of hearing how nobody can play with the Royals close and late because of their bullpen and knack for comebacks. It almost seemed as if the broadcasters were gloating about how they were doing it again rather than corectly reporting that the Mets gave the game away on a silver platter. The announcers never came from the perspective that horrible throw was made that basically lost the game for the Mets; They just suspiciously wouldn't shut up about what a great play it was for Hosmer to run home from third. They sure announced the game in a way to keep the fan's focus off the flubbery of the Mets and as a long time BB fan it was bothersome to hear a game called like that.
DeleteOMG, yes! So true! I've never wanted to punch sports commentators in the face more than I wanted to punch those guys. Made watching the broadcast even more unbearable for us Mets fans. I do admit the blatant, deliberate misplays on both teams were a lil comical, but in the end, it's heartbreaking that so many people are being played for fools almost in plain sight. Ironically, Kansas City was the team I was rooting for last year in the World Series. Go figure..
