Gematria Introduction Chapter Draft (Feel free to critique!)

The hardest part of the book for me to write, has been the introduction.  Here is a draft of what I have completed for explaining gematria.  Chapter 2 will be 'What is numerology?'  And then from there, we'll start taking apart the world.  If you are kind of enough or interested in doing so, please read this and let me know what you think.... such as what you like, what you don't like, what isn't necessary or perhaps even what I should add.  Thank you!

Chapter 1 – What is Gematria?

In this book we will discuss gematria often, so it is best you know how this system works.  If numbers intimidate you, please don’t be frightened.  The system of gematria is very simple once you become used to it, and by being aware of this knowledge, you’ll be better served everyday forward.  By the end of this book, maybe even possibly this chapter, you’ll understand why it is a shame you weren’t taught this system in kindergarten, when most of us were learning the alphabetic order and how to add.  Now, a definition of gematria, the little known language within a language:

Gematria - Gematria /ɡəˈmeɪ.tri.ə/ (Greek: meaning geometry) is an Assyro-Babylonian-Greek system of code and numerology later adopted into Jewish culture that assigns numerical value to a word or phrase in the belief that words or phrases with identical numerical values bear some relation to each other or bear some relation to the number itself as it may apply to nature, a person's age, the calendar year, or the like.  Similar systems, some of which were derived from or inspired by Hebrew gematria, have been used in other languages and cultures, including English.

With that definition in mind, let us decode the words ‘English’ and ‘Gematria’ for a beginning place in understanding what Gematria is.  We will start by decoding with the ‘Simple English Gematria’ method, where A, the first letter of the alphabet is worth 1, B the second letter is worth 2… and Z the 26^th letter is worth 26.  We are decoding these two words to begin because English is the language, and Gematria is the number code within it, a number code that will reveal its significance as we move through the chapters of this book.

Simple English Gematria

In this system, the letter placement within the alphabetic order yields the value of the letter.

A = 1                J = 10               S = 19

B = 2                K = 11              T = 20

C = 3                L = 12              U = 21

D = 4               M = 13             V = 22

E = 5                N = 14             W = 23

F = 6                O = 15              X = 24

G = 7                P = 16              Y = 25

H = 8               Q = 17              Z = 26

I = 9                 R = 18

*A is the 1^st letter, Z is the 26^th letter

Example:

Simple = 19+9+13+16+12+5 = 74

English = 5+14+7+12+9+19+8 = 74

Gematria = 7+5+13+1+20+18+9+1 = 74

Notice the values of all three words, ‘Simple’, ‘English’ and ‘Gematria’ sum to ‘74’.   Again, Gematria is about relating words that have the same numeric value, much like ‘English’ and ‘Gematria’, which appear to be interrelated, meaning that the language was likely created with the concepts of Gematria in mind.

As it happens, 74 is a very important number to the Freemasons, the Jewish faith, the establishment of the United States of America and much more.  This number is a topic in itself that we will elaborate on heavily as we move through the chapters of this book.  Keep in mind that these two numbers, 7 and 4 have a natural pairing.  7 is the 4^th prime number.  In numerology, 4 is the number of foundation and 7 represents complete, plus more.

Occult = 15+3+3+21+12+20 = 74

Masonic = 13+1+19+15+14+9+3 = 74  

Jewish = 10+5+23+9+19+8 = 74

In case you’re thinking perhaps most words sum to ‘74’, this is not the case.  Out of the fifty states in the United States of America, only one, the thirty-third state Oregon, sums to 74.  Think of that in light of the nation’s July 4, or 7/4 birthdays.  As we will discuss in depth in the chapters ahead, ‘33’ is a number of “Masonic obsession” and a number often paired with ‘74’ in this study of Gematria.  As you will soon see, they are numbers paired together in geography, science, spirituality and history.

Oregon = 15+18+5+7+15+14 = 74

OR = 15+18 = 33 (Oregon’s abbreviate is OR) (Oregon, 33^rd State)

This system of gematria is very much dependent on the ‘alphabetic order’.  And with regards to the gematria of ‘alphabetic order’, let me introduce ‘Pythagorean Gematria’,  a method of coding and decoding that is interrelated with ‘Simple English Gematria’, the method we just covered. 

These two methods, Simple English Gematria and Pythagorean Gematria will account for 90% of the calculations used in this book, and are two methods that are worth memorizing in time.  Being able to use these skills on the fly can be very useful as discussed in later chapters, especially for sports and television enthusiasts.

Pythagorean Gematria

In this system, each letter’s value is compressed to a single digit using the rules of numerology, before the letters of the word are summed.  The math computations for each letter to number translation are shown below.

A = 1                J = 1 (10 = 1+0 = 1)                 S = 1/10 (19 = 1+9 = 10, 10 = 1+0 = 1)

B = 2                K = 2/11 (11 = 1+1 = 2)          T = 2 (20 = 2+0 = 2)

C = 3                L = 3 (12 = 1+2 = 3)                U = 3 (21 = 2+1 = 3)

D = 4               M = 4 (13 = 1+3 = 4)               V = 4/22 (22 = 2+2 = 4)

E = 5                N = 5 (14 = 1+4 = 5)                W = 5 (23 = 2+3 = 5)

F = 6                O = 6 (15 = 1+5 = 6)                X = 6 (24 = 2+4 = 6)

G = 7                P = 7 (16 = 1+6 = 7)                Y = 7 (25 = 2+5 = 7)

H = 8               Q = 8 (17 = 1+7 = 8)                Z = 8 (26 = 2+6 = 8)

***There are three important points to note about the letters K, S and V in this system.

In numerology, you do not need to reduce multiples of 11.  K is the 11^th letter, and V is the 22^nd letter.  Because K and V represent the multiples of 11, they do not need to be reduced.  With regards to S, because it is the only letter that needs to be summed twice, to reach a single digit, its value can be 10 or 1, as shown above.

Using this method, let us now decode the name, ‘Alphabetic Order’.  Keep in mind how important the alphabetic order is to ‘gematria’.

Alphabetic = 1+3+7+8+1+2+5+2+9+3 = 41

Order = 6+9+4+5+9 = 33

Alphabetic Order = 74 (English = 74) (Order = 74)

Thus ‘Alphabetic Order’ in Pythagorean Gematria corresponds with ‘English’ and ‘Gematria’ in Simple English Gematria, showing how these decoding systems are interrelated, and highlighting the relationship between these three things. 

Making matters even more interesting, a man named ‘Robert Wylkynson’, a music composer, is largely responsible for the creation of the English Language, according to an article written by the Telegraph, September 24, 2012.

His name, in Pythagorean Gematria, sums to 74, much like ‘Alphabetic Order’, which the Telegraph credits him for.

Robert = 9+6+2+5+9+2 = 33

Wylkynson = 5+7+3+2+7+5+1+6+5 = 41

In regards to Wylkynson being a music composer, it is fascinating that Pythagoras, who is credited with the musical scale we still use today (as well as many mathematical theorems), is also credited with popularizing the language of ‘Gematria’.  Pythagoras was known as, ‘Pythagoras of Samos’.

Pythagoras = 7+7+2+8+1+7+6+9+1+1 = 49

of = 6+6 = 12

Samos = 1+1+4+6+1 = 13

Pythagoras of Samos = 74

The name ‘Pythagoras’ has gematria connecting to ‘Freemasonry’ when the ‘S-Exception’ is used.  Some say that Pythagoras is the Father of Freemasonry, while others say he is just who popularized it in Europe.  The school’s Pythagoras opened in Crotonas, are said to be what Masonic Lodges are primarily modeled around to this day.

Pythagoras = 7+7+2+8+1+7+6+9+1+1/10 = 49/58

Pythagorean = 7+7+2+8+1+7+6+9+5+1+5 = 58

Freemasonry = 6+9+5+5+4+1+1+6+5+9+7 = 58/67

58 is a number we will talk about very much in this book as well, along with Fibonacci Numbers, or “God’s numbers”, which count as follows.

1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144, 233, 377…

Take a moment to examine the numbers decoded above from ‘Pythagoras’, ‘Pythagorean’ and ‘Freemasonry’; 49, 58, 67.  They remind of the first President of the United States of America, George Washington, who died at age 67, as a 33^rd degree Freemason, and who now has a 333-foot Masonic Temple built in his honor in Alexandria, Virginia.

Washington = 5+1+1/10+8+9+5+7+2+6+5 = 49/58

In Simple English Gematria, the names ‘Pythagoras’ and ‘Washington’ are a match as well.

Pythagoras = 16+25+20+8+1+7+15+18+1+19 = 130

Washington = 23+1+19+8+9+14+7+20+15+14 = 130

We will examine the significance of these numbers in greater detail as we move through the chapters ahead, but for now please understand that in the language of gematria, matching words and numbers is the “name of the game”.

In Freemasonry, there is something called the “47th Problem of Euclid”, also known as “How To Square Your Square”.  The 47th Problem of Euclid is directly related to the Pythagorean Theorem, and is used by builders in creating a perfectly square foundation.  Keep in mind the Freemasons are builders, and they take pride in being the invisible architects of society.  Let us quickly examine some more ‘Pythagorean Gematria’ parallels between these words mentioned.

Freemason = 6+9+5+5+4+1+1+6+5 = 42

Architect = 1+9+3+8+9+2+5+3+2 = 42

Building = 2+3+9+3+4+9+5+7 = 42

Society = 1+6+3+9+5+2+7 = 33/42

George Washington born on February 11, the 42^nd day of the year (Gregorian)

The knowledge of how to form a perfect square without the slightest possibility of error has been accounted of the highest importance in the art of building from the time of the Egyptians and ancient pyramids.  It has been known through this same 47^th Problem of Euclid.  It should be noted how ‘Square’ and ‘Euclid’ connect in gematria.

Square = 1+8+3+1+9+5 = 27 (Three cubed = 27) (Three squares)

Euclid = 5+3+3+3+9+4 = 27

In the time of the Egyptians, the Harpedonaptae, which means “rope stretchers”, were architectural specialists who were called in to lay out the foundation lines of buildings.  They were highly skilled and relied on astronomy as well as mathematical calculations in order to form perfect square angles for each building.  In light of this relating the the 47^th Problem of Euclid, keep in mind that 4 is the number of foundation, 7 is the number of complete, and 7 is the 4^th prime number.  Also, let us examine the gematria of ‘Astrology’ and ‘Math’ to see how they tie in with ‘Freemason’.

Astrology = 1+1+2+9+6+3+6+7+7 = 42 (Pythagorean Gematria)

Math = 13+1+20+8 = 42 (Simple English Gematria)

Historically, a building's cornerstone was laid at the northeast corner of the building.  Why in the northeast?  The ancient builders first laid out the north and south lines by observation of the stars and the sun...especially the North Star, (Polaris), which they believed at that time to be fixed in the sky.  Think of it, forming 90 degree angles based on the location of Polaris.

Polaris = 16+15+12+1+18+9+19 = 90 (Simple English Gematria)

Only after laying out a perfect North and South line could they use the square to establish perfect East and West lines for their foundations, thus the relevance of the 47^th Problem of Euclid.  By establishing true East and West lines, the rope stretchers could ascertain a perfect 90 degree angle to the North/South line which they had established using the stars.   

In this simple example, we see how the use of numbers and the stars come together.  In the coming chapters, we will further explore the relationship between numbers and astrology, and how the Masons have used this ancient code throughout history in regards to staged political assassinations, major feats in Space, such as the moon landing, and more.  As you will come to understand, these numbers go well beyond structural engineering.

In regards to the ‘Gregorian’ ‘Calendar’ system we are on, many synchronicities will be discussed in regards to dates, astrology and gematria.  For an introduction, let us examine the gematria connections between the words ‘Calendar’ and ‘Gregorian’.  This is an excellent example of the relationship between the two methods, Pythagorean Gematria and Simple English Gematria as well.

Calendar = 3+1+12+5+14+4+1+18 = 58 (Simple English Gematria)

Gregorian = 7+9+5+7+6+9+9+1+5 = 58 (Pythagorean Gematria)

Freemasonry = 58 (Pythagorean Gematria)

In coming to realize the significance of this ancient language of gematria, it becomes clear who has been operating from the shadows, secretly building the world around us, according to sacred numbers and mathematical schemes.

Secret Society = 1+5+3+9+5+2+1+6+3+9+5+2+7 = 58

Freemasonry = 6+9+5+5+4+1+1+6+5+9+7 = 58

Considering this important building equation, the 47^th Problem of Euclid, highly relevant to the Freemasons, let us establish the significance of the number ‘47’ in regards to authority.  It is important to know that in the history of the United States, the majority of Presidents have been ‘Republican’, originally known as the ‘Whig’ party, up until the time of Abraham Lincoln.  Also, keep in mind that the date July 4, is written day before month in many parts of the world, or 4/7.

Authority = 1+3+2+8+6+9+9+2+7 = 47

President = 7+9+5+1+9+4+5+5+2 = 47

Republican = 9+5+7+3+2+3+9+3+1+5 = 47

Whig = 23+8+9+7 = 47

Caesar = 3+1+5+19+1+18 = 47

Obey = 15+2+5+25 = 47

Gavel = 7+1+22+5+12 = 47

In the coming chapters, 47 and 74 are numbers that will be discussed possibly more than any other.  This is just the beginning.

Moving on, another important form of gematria is referred to as ‘English Gematria’, also sometimes called ‘Satanic Gematria’.  The difference between this method and ‘Simple English Gematria’ is that you multiply the letter value by 6 before adding.  Or, you can also sum the word in Simple English Gematria and then multiply by 6.  See the chart below for a more clear example.

English Gematria

In this system, each letter is multiplied by six before adding.  The word can also be summed using the rules of Simple English Gematria, as shown above, and then the total sum can be multiplied by six at the end.

In later chapters we will discuss the curious case of the death of Antonin Scalia, February 13, 2016, in regards to the Dick Cheney shooting accident of February 11, 2006, events that happened 522-weeks apart to the day.  Why is 522 significant?

Antonin = 6+84+120+90+84+54+84 = 522

Justice = 60+126+114+120+54+18+30 = 522

Dick Cheney = 24+54+18+66+18+48+30+84+30+150 = 522

For the record, I’m not arguing that justice was served in either instance, I’m just introducing you to the methods by which mainstream riddles in news media are planned and delivered, something you will be an expert at by the end of this book.

As you will soon see, there is a lot more to this very numerological story concerning the death of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, and the accidental shooting of a lawyer friend by Dick Cheney, both being stories that are centered around quail hunting in Texas.

For another example of ‘English Gematria’ within the ‘mainstream’, let us examine the recent retirement of Kobe Bryant, the NBA Superstar, who had a career that was very much compared to an older NBA legend, Michael Jordan.  Michael Jordan played his last basketball game against the Philadelphia 76ers, the team that represents the city Kobe was born in.  Jordan’s last game was played April 16, 2003, Kobe Bryant’s last game was played April 13, 2016.  This is a span of exactly 678-weeks.

Kobe Bryant = 66+90+12+30+12+108+150+6+84+120 = 678

Michael Jordan = 78+54+18+48+6+30+72+60+90+108+24+6+84 = 678

Strangely enough, at the same time Kobe was playing his last game, the Golden State Warriors were breaking the ’95-’96 win record set by Michael Jordan’s Bulls.  The two stars of that team, Steph Curry and Klay Thompson, combined for another NBA record in the same season, finishing with exactly 678-three pointers made.  The common link between Kobe Bryant and the Golden State Warriors, is Joe Jellybean Bryant, his father, who was drafted in the first round, fourteenth overall, by the Golden State Warriors, in 1975, 41-years before Kobe’s last game.  For you sports enthusiast, worry not, there is a lot more valuable information in the chapters ahead, and a whole lot more to the story of Kobe’s last game and the Warriors record breaking 2015-16 season.

Let us now discuss another method of gematria, ‘Jewish Gematria’.  The table for the values of this system are shown below.  These are a little trickier to memorize.

Jewish Gematria

Jewish Gematria assigns numerical values to letters, as follows.  Notice that A-I are worth 1-9, just like in Simple English Gematria and Pythagorean Gematria.  The change begins with letter J.

A = 1                J = 600             S = 90

B = 2                K = 10              T = 100

C = 3                L = 20              U = 200

D = 4               M = 30             V = 700

E = 5                N = 40             W = 900

F = 6                O = 50              X = 300

G = 7                P = 60              Y = 400

H = 8               Q = 70              Z = 500

I = 9                 R = 80

A very interesting word in Jewish Gematria, and in Simple English Gematria as well, is the word ‘the’.

The = 100+8+5 = 113 (Jewish Gematria)

The = 20+8+5 = 33 (Simple English Gematria)

It is clear that the English Language was crafted by men of Freemasonic backgrounds, and it is equally as transparent that they have coded some of their most sacred numbers into the most used word of the ‘English’ language, ‘the’.  It is difficult to write a sentence without using “the”.

Out of all the other words I am aware of in this study, only one word has this same combination of values in Jewish Gematria and Simple English Gematria as “the”.  That word is ‘gate’.  A very interesting word when you think about it.

Gate = 7+1+100+5 = 113 (Jewish Gematria)

Gate = 7+1+20+5 = 33 (Simple English Gematria)

Ask yourself, what does a gate represent? Does it not represent a wall and at the same time a possible opening to something greater that is beyond the obstacle it presents?  To me, a gate is a perfect metaphor for knowledge.  When knowledge is not understood it can be a major obstacle to progress, but once that knowledge is uncovered and acquired, it becomes like an open gate.

For anyone who is feeling intimated by this subject, I assure you, that if you finish this book, you will grasp the knowledge, and a new gate in this world will forever be open to you.

Let us now examine some relevant words and phrases in gematria, and where some of their derived meaning might come from.  In the Bible, John 21:11 reveals the number of fish in what is known as the ‘miraculous’ catch, 153. 

John = 10+15+8+14 = 47

Christian = 3+8+9+9+1+2+9+1+5 = 47

Let us decode the word fish, and show its relationship with the number 153.  The purpose of this example is to show how the different formats of gematria, ‘Jewish’, ‘Simple English’ and ‘Pythagorean’ are intertwined.

Fish = 6+9+90+8 = 113 (Jewish Gematria)

Fish = 6+9+19+8 = 42 (Simple English Gematria)

Miraculous = 4+9+9+1+3+3+3+6+3+1 = 42 (Pythagorean Gematria)

One = 6+5+5 = 16

Hundred = 8+3+5+4+9+5+4 = 38

Fifty = 6+9+6+2+7 = 30

Three = 2+8+9+5+5 = 29

One Hundred Fifty Three = 113 (Pythagorean Gematria)

As we work our way through the chapters of the book, you will notice that the numbers 42, 113 and 153 are often paired together in history, news reporting, pro sports and more.

Another number that is often connected to 153, is the number 17.  This is because if you sum 1-17, it totals 153.

1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9+10+11+12+13+14+15+16+17 = 153

Here is an important word with ‘17’ gematria.

God = 7+6+4 = 17

The story of the Miraculous Catch has much to do with faith in God.

Interestingly enough, if you sum 1-26, it totasl 351, the reflection of 153.

153+18+19+20+21+22+23+24+25+26 = 351

God = 7+15+4 = 26

Consider the English Alphabet is 26-letters.  Also, the word ‘God’ in the Hebrew Alphabet, also has a gematria of 26.  The Hebrew alphabet is thousands of years older than English.

A theme that will be discussed heavily in this book, is that the Masons (Freemasons) are mimicking God by staging world events “by the numbers”.  If the Masons think of themselves as reflections of God, they were sure to code this into the language.

Mason = 4+1+1+6+5 = 17/26

Mason = 13+1+19+15+14 = 62

Let us cover one last example of how the different gematria methods come together.  I think you will find this example truly fascinating.  From my research, it seems that a lot of these tributes in numbers have to do with time, and the movement of the sun in regards to the earth.  A mathematical computation that shows up continuously in regards to time and measurement, is Pi, the infinitely repeating number that begins 3.14.  You might recall using this number often in your middle school or high school geometry class for calculating measurements in regards to circles.

Well, as it happens, Pi seems to be a central focus in what was originally crafted into the English Language.  Let me explain.

If you divide the number 22 by the number 7, you are given the approximation of Pi.  If you take the time to do the math, you should calculate 3.14285714285714…

Would you believe what ‘Twenty Two divided by Seven’ sums to in Simple English Gematria?

Twenty = 20+23+5+14+20+25 = 107

Two = 20+23+15 = 58

Divided = 4+9+22+9+4+5+4 = 57

By = 2+25 = 27

Seven = 19+5+22+5+14 = 65

Twenty Two Divided by Seven = 314

Notice how 314 is a lot like 3.14, what is most commonly written for Pi.  If you’re not aware, each March 14, or 3/14 as we write it most commonly in the United States, is known as ‘Pi Day’.

What is interesting about ‘Pi’ and ‘Time’, is that if you sum the first 144 decimal points of Pi, beginning with 1+4, it totals 666, the number commonly referred to as the ‘Mark of the Beast’.  Let me reveal to you the relationship between ‘time’ and ‘beast’.

Time = 100+9+30+5 = 144 (Jewish Gematria)

Mark of the Beast = 13+1+18+11+15+6+20+8+5+2+5+1+19+20 = 144

With regards to ‘time’ and 144, think about this.  Each day, there are twenty-four hours made up of sixty minutes, for a total of 1,440 minutes.  In numerology, zero doesn’t count, so 1,440 is a lot like 144.  Further, think about how there are 12 hours in the morning, and 12 hours in the evening.  12 x 12 is 144.  Thus the square root of 144 is 12.  Think about how there are 12 months in a year, 12 inches in a foot.  In numerology and the study of numbers, it is said that ‘12’ represents complete.

Further, the number 144 is a Fibonacci number, and as it happens, it is the 12^th Fibonacci number.  The Fibonacci Numbers are considered to be “the numbers of God”, and show up in recurring spirals, having much to do with time and the universe we live in.

So again I ask, is the ‘beast’ the same as ‘time’?

Beast = 2+5+1+19+20 = 47

Time = 20+9+13+5 = 47

The city of Seattle, where I reside, is on the 47^th Parallel North.  The leading attraction of Seattle and most recognized landmark is the Space Needle, which has a rotating restaurant that does a full rotation every 47 minutes.  I don’t think that rotation time is by coincidence, and I think you will agree with me by the end of this book, if you don’t’ already.

For the last method discussed in this introduction, I want you to be aware of what we will refer to as ‘Francis Bacon Gematria’.  Please see the table below for the values of this coding system.

Francis Bacon Gematria

In this system letter values are determined by whether they are capitalized or not.  Lowercase a-z are worth 1-26, and uppercase A-Z, are worth 27-52.

For an example of the significance of the Francis Bacon Method, let us examine the Freemason G in the middle of their symbolic compass and square.

From the chart, capital G represents ‘33’, the number of Masonic obsession.
