If it's legal then technically they aren't doing anything wrong, and no one actually died, and we don't have to believe it (free will) so if we fall for it then too bad, is how they most likely see it. No wonder they smirk so much.
Also the reason offer "ostensibly" that this character went out and shot 2 cops and then committed suicide was because he wanted revenge for people he did not know personally, was not related to, who were nothing but news stories to him...yet he was so upset he decided to kill himself and 2 others? How is that even vaguely accepted as a possibility? Think of how many times u were upset by some injustice, maybe u ranted to your friends, or talked shit on the internet, but who gets so upset by the goddammnd news that they would be willing to end it all? That's ridiculous it doesn't happen, and if it did it would be extremely rare.
