ReplyDeleteHey Zach, you should look into the assassination attempt on Teddy Roosevelt October 14, 1912. He was shot and later have a speech, adding to his "badass" reputation. I really hope this isn't the narrative for "Donald" on 10/4, that would be a very unwanted and unneeded boost to his giant persona and ego. Anyway, I've only just scratched the surface looking into this, but there are some parallels to this election. Roosevelt was shot because a man didn't want him to assume a third term, which is a weird sort of cross reference to Obama and Trump. Also, Eugene V Debs ran on the socialist party tick, kind of like Bernie.
