DeleteI been waiting for the follow-up riot if the Cubs win or lose, especially a Game 7. The game won't be in Chicago, which may just be to keep the bigwigs away from the Purge. The breaking of a curse usually calls for some kind of blood.

DeleteI didn't realize games 3, 4, and 5 were in Chicago and 6 and 7 were in Cleveland.
Nonetheless, Chicago is ripe for a big blowout if they win. Perhaps during a citywide celebration parade. I never trusted Rahm Emanuel... he always gave me the creeps. Barack sent him to Chicago and the city hasn't benefited from his presence.

Interesting that the police stopped -- & attacked -- the August 1968 protestors right in front of the Conrad Hilton Hotel (named for Paris Hilton's grandfather) -- where the presidential candidates just happened to be staying. Made for great "live coverage of the chaos" no doubt.
Learning that it was later deemed a "police riot" -- & that 8 officers were indicted for it -- proves that the methods used during the Seattle WTO protests were nothing new.
I met Hayden & Fonda's son Troy Garity during the filming of "Bandits" (Bruce Willis & Billy Bob Thornton starred). Troy played the get-away driver who yearned to be a stuntman. He was very nice, but extremely shy. Though trying to start a film career (which apparently didn't go much further), he was adamant that the identity of his parents be kept a secret. Very few who worked on that set realized who he actually was.
Mostly I remember him as seeming rather sad, & somewhat of a lost soul. Who could blame him? Heaven knows what kind of childhood he must've had ... & during this time, Jane -- in the middle of divorcing hubby #3 Ted Turner -- was all over the media talking about things that would make even a grown kid want to hide.
Jane & Hayden married in 1973 -- at their home in LAUREL CANYON. That pretty much says it all right there.
Not surprising about the Hilton. Product placement always ongoing with NLP (neural linguistic programming). Look at Paris Hilton, famous for "stolen" porno tape which equates sex (fertility) with the name Hilton to keep on "breeding" success.

DeletePru -- Great catch about the product placement! Every time this incident is referenced, the reader gets a subtle nudge about where the "good class" books their hotel rooms. Hadn't spotted that angle til you mentioned it -- thanks for showing that this practice goes back much, much further than I realized.
DeleteConnecting Paris Hilton's porn tape with "breeding" sure got my attention. From that perspective, it brings to mind Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World" -- where people engaged in promiscuous sex solely for distraction. The notion of pregnancy/giving birth was disgusting ... & was left to the experts at the labs -- where test-tube babies were brewed according to pre-determined class designations.
Such a lifestyle is EXACTLY what Paris & her minions have been promoting. Eugenics for the Next Gen crowd -- while "teaching them to love their slavery" ... just as Huxley spoke of. From all appearances, it seems to be working too.
Now I'm going to check out this monolith -- have a feeling it's going to be VERY interesting ...!

I've literally spent most of the past 24 hrs trying to respond ... but every attempt has crashed & vanished -- right before I was done. The entire history on my computer has been wiped out, & even the most recent sites saved to my homepages are gone.
DeleteI'd assumed that you were referring to a statue -- I had no idea that the Monolith was the hotel itself! Hell yeh, that's creepy.
When I first started researching the hotel, EVERY single site I tried crashed -- & all for DIFFERENT reasons. Even the wiki page crashed. So I tried different search word combinations until finally one worked.
Now -- get this -- every page shown involved speculation that the hotel might be a "stargate" portal with ties to CERN. That's the LAST thing I expected to find.
Would you believe I've NEVER seen "2001: A Space Odyssey"? How's that for a "Monolithic" oversight, lol! Kubrick's work had always creeped me out, so I avoided it. Now however, I can watch it with a goal in mind ... the universe is taunting me -- & I want to know why! After all, my glitch-filled, 24 hour "Groundhog Day" started with this damned Monolithic Motel. Thanks a lot, Pru! Heh heh
