ReplyDeleteZach, this Colts Vikings game had some crazy numbers behind it. I took a look at the Season 10, episode 6 episode of Pawn Stars entitled "Colts and Vikings", which is also episode number 322. This aired July 24, 2014. You've documented all of this. But check this out:

ReplyDeleteInteresting. Don't think anyone was expecting this. I could still see the Colts winning Sunday though. They'll say Peterson was rusty if he struggles, then have him dominate the last 2 weeks of the season to push them in.

DeleteThey can still beat them but it now really falls into Luck's hands, he is one of a few qbs out there that can take over the game completely and put the team of his shoulders. Yeah AP is going to make it close but I would rather have Luck out there under center ten times out of ten over who Vikings have at qb. Bradford that is, started the year on fire for Bradford but he has cooled down somewhat as the season goes on. I also found out that Chuck Pagano's first win as a head coach came against none other than the Minnesota Vikings, Luck played a major part in the win and the game was won on an Adam Vinateiri 53 yrd field goal with 12 seconds remaining.

DeleteHonestly if it came down to it I would rather have a healthy and rested Frank Gore who is a better ypc rusher than a rusty Adrian Peterson. Gore also holds an edge because he is a better reciever out of the backfield then AP. Peterson might get more touchdowns and less fumbles but that stat can be misleading because tds depend on how well your team is playing and the level of competition you are playing against, and fumbles mostly just comes down to defensive pressure of the other team and getting lucky that the oddly shaped ball is mishandled by carrier.
