Google Doodle's first tribute for "black history month" is a tribute to the first internationally recognized sculptor who was both native and black. Today is February 1, 2017.
It is the second Google Doodle tribute this past week to a black woman from history. The last was Bessie Coleman, January 26, 2017, who was from Atlanta, Texas. Read about that below:

It seemed her tribute was a riddle for the Super Bowl. In that light, it is interesting that today's Google Doodle recipient has name gematria connecting to the Super Bowl.
