33 | September 26, 1983, the Day the World Almost Died

There is a story that says the world nearly came to an end on September 26, 1983 due to Nuclear Armageddon.  According to the 'official report', it was Stanislav Petrov, the man with his finger on "the button", but who remained cool as a cucumber when his spy satellites indicated five nuclear missiles were heading towards his country from the Midwest of the United States.  His instincts told him the satellites must be mistaken because the attack did not make any sense.  Had he thought otherwise, and returned fire, it could have truly meant the end of the world for mankind as we know it, at least so the story goes.  Do you know what I like most about this story?  To me, it is most telling.  It is the name numerology of 'Petrov'.
  • Petrov = 7+5+2+9+6+4 = 33
To learn more about this story, an article is provided courtesy of the Daily Mail.  The article mentions how "Robert Gates" was them the deputy director of intelligence and was instrumental in getting the facts of this story.  Later in history Robert Gates would become the head of the CIA.
  • Robert = 9+6+2+5+9+2 = 33
  • Gates = 7+1+2+5+1 = 16
  • Robert Gates = 49
Let this story be another example of "33" in the ongoing saga of nuclear weapons; this number pertains to the first test, following tests, the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and much more, including the story of "The Day the World Almost Died", starring "Stanislav Petrov".
