I love that the Houston Astros played the Los Angeles Dodgers, August 4, 2018, after beating them in the World Series the year prior, in a World Series dedicated to George Orwell, author of 1984, and where the World Series had multiple tributes to 84... (see older posts).
Not only did they play on this date, but it was the worst shutout loss at home for the Dodgers since '23, back when they were in Brooklyn.
8/4/2018 = 8+4+(2+0+1+8) = 23
