Think about Masonry and secrecy. Again, modern masonry has its roots in the secret society that was and still is the Rosicrucians. The name Rosicrucian means Rose Cross, and the Rose has much to do with secrecy.

Remember, Francis Bacon was the leader of the Rosicrucians, and a major influence on modern masonry.
His date of death, April 9, connects to 'Sub Rosa' as well.

According to Thomas De Quincey, it was between 1633 and 1646 the modern Freemasons originated out of Rosicrucianism.
