11-5 | Saturday NFL Observations for Week 1 of '14-'15 NFL Playoffs

On Saturday, the games went as I anticipated with the Panthers and Ravens winning.  Despite Baltimore playing on the road, I had a feeling they would win because of the tribute that is occurring for the Colts.  For those who don't know, the city of Baltimore once hosted the Colts, who now reside in Indiana.

Notice that both losing teams went into the game with 11-5 regular season records.  Interestingly enough, the Colts and Lions both finished the season with 11-5 records.  They will both play today.  Perhaps the 11-5 records lose on Saturday, and win on Sunday?  In the coming hours we will know.

Also, I want to point out that I find the Cardinals vs Panthers game very curious.  Perhaps this game is some sort of signal for the things to come.  To date, the Carolina Panthers Bank of America Stadium has been the site of the most 'severe' terrorism drills.  They are also the only stadium in the league that is located on a 33-acre parcel of land.  Perhaps having that stadium host the team that will host the Super Bowl is symbolic?  Again, time will tell.
