223 | Why Americans don't live as long as Europeans, CNN feature article

I love the time stamp.

And right away, Europe has done a much better job of keeping GMOs out of their continent than North America has.  They also work to live, where here in the United States, we live to work.

With that 1-44 stat, my eyebrows are up.

Notice the article makes zero mentions of the chemicals people are bombarded with in the United States.

  1. Europeans have socialism and therefore a higher quality of life. Decent wages, shorter working week, good low cost healthcare and they get 4-6 weeks vacation on average compared to our 2. It's really no wonder.

I would like a health insurance policy that pays for 1 hour swedish massage a month and unlimited weed and that's it. It would be much more cost effective and everyone would be much happier and relaxed

  3. I think the only major difference between US & the UK is that you have a ton of guns there! I don't know anyone in the UK who gets more than 3 weeks holiday a year and people here definitely have no choice but to work long hours - if they can get them, to make ends meet. I think it is better on The Continent mind you. A Norwegian friend of mine told me a couple of years ago that if you are 30yrs or older you must be paid approx £15 per hour in Norway, at the time the minimum wage, regardless of age was just over £5 in the UK. And it rains all the time in the UK, makes people jump of bridges and stuff ;-) Good work Zach, stay safe.
