Jay-Z's sixth album, "The Blueprint", released on September 11, 2001.
Oh my Lord there's so much on Jay-Z. Of course his album The Blueprint came out on 9.11.01
ReplyDeleteDid it really? lol
ReplyDeleteSecond song on the album is Takeover, & it starts out appropriate for what came of that day in Manhattan.
ReplyDeleteIt sampled KRS-1's song Sound of Da Police:
"Watch out!! We run New York!"
Which was about how the police have unchecked power & corruption.
Followed by Jay-Z saying:
"The takeover, the break's over, nigga
God MC - me - J-hova
Hey lil soldier, you ain't ready for war
R.O.C. too strong for y'all"
ROC being Rocafella, his label named after the Rockefellers. His masters I'd imagine. The war obviously came shortly after that day.
It was recorded in Manhattan Center Studios, address 311 W. 34th Street, owned by the Unification Church since '76. The building used to be an opera house that was bought by the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry in 1922.
My goodness Rup. That's just in our face.
DeleteIt's really sad how the talented, empowering & intelligent Black American music prior to the late 1980's turned so suddenly to simple, degrading, & juvenile. It's obvious to me that the owners of the western media & entertainment complex declared war on the mind and soul of young black men and women. 25 years of sadistic psychological warfare. None of this could have been possible without the complicity of the likes of Jay-z, Dr. Dre, etc.
Where is Chuck-D when we need him?
Well we know where Professor Griff's at!
DeleteI think they have done it to everybody with all of their genres of music.
DeleteAgree. In the 1960's they told the Baby Boomers to "drop out". Boy did they ever.
DeleteAre you sure about that address? If so, wow! I see Reasonable Doubt was recorded at D and D.
ReplyDeleteYeah that's the address, thought you'd be interested in that. Speaking of D and D, Jay-Z is owner of the original 40/40 Club in NY.
ReplyDeleteU be on point with all your INFO keep it up
