This is another coded hoax I am quite certain.

• Washington = 5+1+1+8+9+5+7+2+6+5 = 49
• 3/31/15 = 3+31+15 = 49

Notice the father is currently 42-years old.  Washington is the 42nd State, named after George Washington, who was born February 11, the 42nd day of the year, at least on the "old calendar".
