Notice the Fabian Society was founded in 1884, emphasis on '84.

According to some sources, George Orwell was a member of this society, which would make an awful lot of sense, since he is the author of 1984, what was to be 100-year-anniversary of the Fabians.

In Aldous Huxley's letter to George Orwell about, 1984, he says how the ruling minority portrayed in the book is Sadistic in nature, meaning they derive pleasure from inflicting pain in those they govern over.  Sound familiar?
