17 18 33 81 83 99 | Opening TD, Manning to Daniels, 18 to 81, AFC Championship, January 24, 2016
I love that the opening drive for the Broncos resulted in a TD pass from #18 to #81. If you add their numbers together, it totals 99, like the last year the Broncos won a Super Bowl. It might be a tribute to the Patriots, the opponent, as well...
Patriot = 16+1+20+18+9+15+20 = 99
Tom Brady, 199th pick of the 2000 Draft
Broncos also won Super Bowl 33 in '99
Also notice that the drive was 83-yards long.
Football = 6+15+15+20+2+1+12+12 = 83
Peyton Manning, born on the 83rd day of the year
Colorado = 3+15+12+15+18+1+4+15 = 83
*Tom Brady, born on 8/3
The drive began at the 17-yard line
This is the 17th matchup between Brady and Manning all-time
As for #81 who caught the TD, he is currently 33-years old. Remember, the last Super Bowl that Denver won, was #33, with John Elway, who now sits in the booth.
11/9/1982 = 11+9+19+82 = 121
11/9/1982 = 11+9+(1+9+8+2) = 40
11/8/1982 = 1+1+9+1+9+8+2 = 31
11/8/92 = 11+9+92 = 112
