33 Watch | Compton, NWA, and Hip-Hop Music

Compton, California is one of the oldest cities in Los Angles County, being established Since May 11, 1888.  It is located on the 33rd Parallel North, and the 118th Parallel West.  It also has name numerology of 33, much like Glendale, AZ, which is also located on the 33rd Parallel North.

• Compton = 3+6+4+7+2+6+5 = 33
• Glendale = 7+3+5+5+4+1+3+5 = 33

In recent times, it has become known for its influence on hip-hop music, being the home of many artists of the genre.  Also, in recent years, it has become known as the home of Richard Sherman, the loudmouthed cornerback for the Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks, who won the 33rd day of the year, February 2, 2014.

• Hip = 8+9+16 = 33
• Hop = 8+15+16 = 39
• Sherman = 1+8+5+9+4+1+5 = 33

On August 8, 1988, the Hip-Hop group NWA released the album Straight Outta Compton.  This is the same year other 33 groups, such as Naughty by Nature, Cypress Hill, Sublime and more were established.

• Naughty = 5+1+3+7+8+2+7 = 33
• Cypress = 3+7+7+9+5+1+1 = 33

Today, Dr. Dre, of NWA, is a major star, from music to merchandise.  He refers to himself as "The Watcher".
