33 In The Movies | Gattaca | The Future of Genetics Foretold

The movie Gattaca was released October 24, 1997.  Interestingly enough, this date has a numerology of 33.  Let us examine.

• 10/24/1997 = 1+0+2+4+1+9+9+7 = 33
• October is the only month with '33 name numerology'
• October = 6+3+2+6+2+5+9 = 33

Making matters even more interesting, are the names of the main characters.   The movie centers around four main roles; Vincent Freeman, Irene Cassini, Director Josef and Jerome Eugene Morrow

• Vincent = 4+9+5+3+5+5+2 = 33
• Freeman = 6+9+5+5+4+1+5 = 35
• Irene = 9+9+5+5+5 = 33

In the film, Vincent is investigating Saturn.  In real life, the Cassini satellite is orbiting Saturn and transmitting photographs to earth.  Vincent's main love interest in the film is Irene Cassini.  Isn't it lovely, 33 and 33...

In short, the film is about the 'elite' of this world, which is the word used in the film to describe the main characters.  It is about how within that realm of elite, cruel plots, far flung, will be pursued... all for the sake of power.  The main characters are played by Ethan Hawke, Uma Thurman, Jude Law and author, Gore Vidale.

This film reminds of Minority Report in the sense that it showcases the future in what has turned out to be accurate foretelling.  Out of many curiosities, it shows how blood samples are extracted and saved from babies, something that is now a lawful practice in the present day United States.  The major theme of the film is 'genetic manipulation'; which since 1997, has become much more a reality.

If you ever take the time to watch this movie, which can currently be streamed on Netflix, you'll have a better understanding of what this movie is really about, and that it truly is more than a movie.
