113 119 | Dodgers and Nationals Odds for October 6, 2014 (+Orioles Championship)

The MLB playoffs are underway and things are already decided in the American League for the Championship Game as the Kansas City Royals have swept the Anaheim Angels and the Baltimore Orioles have swept the Detroit Tigers.

In the National League the Dodgers are tied with the Cardinals at 1-1 and the Nationals are trailing the Giants by 0-2.  My picks for the World Series were Orioles vs Nationals, but I mentioned that the Dodgers also made a lot of sense in the National League and I could see them instead of the Nationals.  It should be noted that the Dodgers won the World Series 26-years ago and 33-years ago.

If the Nationals are eliminated, I fully expect an Orioles vs Dodgers World Series with the Orioles the victors.  This year's World Series is the 110th, and the word 'President' sums to 110, which reminds much of the Orioles and Nationals in terms of baseball because of their proximity to the White House.  Interestingly enough, Los Angeles sums to 109, one short of 110.  By this logic however you could argue that Los Angeles should have been in last year's World Series and won; which they were not and did not.
  • President = 16+18+5+19+9+4+5+14+20 = 110
  • Los Angeles = 12+15+19+1+14+7+5+12+5+19 = 109
In 2012, the San Francisco Giants started off their divisional playoff series down 0-2, just as their current opponent the Washington Nationals are.  In that 2012 campaign, the Giants rallied back to win the series 3-2 and then went on to sweep the Tigers in the World Series.  Can the Nationals steal the Giants "magic"?
  • Nationals = 5+1+2+9+6+5+1+3+1 = 33
  • Magic = 13+1+7+9+3 = 33
Let us close by looking at the betting lines for the Dodgers and the Nationals tonight; for the Dodgers  the line is "113" and 119 for the Nationals.

but I agree with you, Orioles all the way if its v.s Dodgers.
