Not long after the Propaganda Ban ended in the United States, there was a chemical weapons attack in Damascus supposedly, and the United States Federal Government beating the war drum for Syria.

Attack on 33rd Parallel

Not long after this attack, the United States was introduced to ISIS, supposedly a split off from al-Qaeda.  This seemed awfully convenient, given the recent political rhetoric about bombing and invading Syria.
