12/2/83 = 12+2+83 = 97
12/2 = 12+2 = 14

12/2 is a lot like 122 (San Francisco = 122) (San Francisco hosting Super Bowl 50)

Rodgers played his college ball in the Bay Area at Cal, and came out early when he found out the 49ers had the #1 overall pick.  Instead of being drafted by the 49ers, who took Alex Smith, he was drafted by the Green Bay Packers, who inherited McCarthy as their head coach the next season, who was the offensive coordinator in San Francisco and supposedly decided to take Smith over Rodgers... nothing suspicious there.
