Tim Murray, Barack Obama and Patrick Deval, or "33, 33 and 33" |
Today it is reported that Massachusetts has passed legislation, increasing the minimum wage in gradual amounts until it peaks at $11/hour in 2017. Courtesy of CNN, we have the following excerpt on this story:Lawmakers in the Bay State gave final approval on Thursday to legislation that will gradually raise the minimum to $11 an hour by 2017, up from $8 today. Governor Deval Patrick received the bill Thursday evening, said Jesse Mermell, a spokeswoman.
- Deval = 4+5+22+1+12 = 44
- Patrick = 7+1+2+9+9+3+2 = 33
- A "33" Governor in a "33" State, go figure.
While Massachusetts is taking the lead among states, the city of Seattle, which recently approved an increase to $15 an hour, still will offer the highest minimum anywhere in the country.Notice that Massachusetts is one of only three "33" states in the United States of America. They are the first state Delaware, the sixth state Massachusetts, and the fiftieth and final state, Hawaii.
- Delaware = 4+5+3+1+5+1+9+5 = 33
- Massachusetts = 4+1+1+1+1+3+8+3+1+5+2+2+1 = 33
- Hawaii = 8+1+5+1+9+9 = 33
- Tim = 20+9+13 = 42
- Patrick = 7+1+2+9+9+3+2 = 33
- Murray = 4+3+9+9+1+7 = 33
Lawmakers in Minnesota, Delaware, West Virginia, Connecticut, New York, California and Hawaii have also approved minimum wage hikes this year or last.So the three "33" states are all participating, plus the following:
- Minnesota = 4+9+5+5+5+1+6+2+1 = 38, reduces to 11
- Connecticut = 3+6+5+5+5+3+2+9+3+3+2 = 46
- York = 7+6+9+11 = 33
- California = 3+1+12+9+6+15+18+14+9+1 = 88
- Virginia = 4+9+9+7+5+9+1 = 44
