Zach, Have you ever heard of a Pastor Tony Alamo (pronounced a la ma) that was convicted to 175 years in jail on 11/13/09? (33) Some say he is innocent and was taken out by the Vatican. He was always going after Rome and one his themes was THE POPE'S SECRETS. Might make an interesting story with the 6 year anniversary of his sentencing coming up tomorrow.

The whole Ed Gein thing seems like a psy op as well.
This "real" killer (Ed Gein = 44, Wisconsin = 44) was an early exercise in seamlessly sequeing a psy op event into nasty cultural artifacts such as "Psycho" and "Silence of the Lambs".
"American filmmaker Errol Morris and German filmmaker Werner Herzog attempted unsuccessfully to collaborate on a film project about Gein in 1975–76. Morris interviewed Gein several times and ended up spending almost a year in Plainfield interviewing dozens of locals. The pair planned secretly to exhume Gein's mother from her grave to test a theory, but never followed through on the scheme and eventually ended their collaboration. The aborted project was described in a 1989 New Yorker profile of Morris."
