16 17 33 44 | 1971-72 Lakers 33 Game Winning Streak, In Light of Warriors and 76ers Winning & Losing Streaks

44 will be central in what is written in the following breakdown of the current Warriors winning streak.  Notice Jerry West is shown wearing #44, a member of the 33-win streak Lakers.

Jerry = 1+5+9+9+7 = 31
West = 5+5+1+2 = 13
Jerry West = 44

Notice the Warriors set the win streak record to start the season, 16-0, against the Lakers, who had a 33-game winning streak, in the season the Warriors became the Golden State Warriors, 44-years ago. In 2015, they defeated the Cavs in the NBA Finals, who were in their 44th-year of existence.

King James = 44 (LeBron James nickname, who returned to Cleveland for their 44th season)

44 has been a very important number in pro sports in recent history, as I have documented on this blog.

Sixteen = 1+9+6+2+5+5+5 = 33

It is no coincidence the Golden State Warriors are 17-0 and the Philadelphia 76ers are 0-17.  Remember, the Warriors began their franchise history in Philadelphia, where they went to the NBA Championship in the first season of the league, losing to the Minnesota Lakers.

Also, the 76ers became 0-17 exactly 76-days after Moses Malone died, who died 17-days after Daryl Dawkins.

In the offseason, Darryl Dawkins died on August 27 and Moses Malone died on September 13, 17-days apart.  We'll see what happens for both of these teams in their 18th game.

The Warriors play the Kings tonight.

Kings = 2+9+5+7+1 = 24/33

The 76ers play at the Grizzlies tomorrow.

Grizzlies = 7+9+9+8+8+3+9+5+1 = 59/68
