Ron Rivera played on that '85 team, who now coaches the 15-1 Panthers. In 2013, I wrote about why there would likely be another Super Bowl between the Panthers and Patriots... that might be coming true this season. I'd say the Panthers are a lock for the Super Bowl, the Patriots, maybe. Also, one other possibility for the NFC is the Cardinals, who began in Chicago, way, way back. Tonight's championship was on their home field. The Cardinals also possibly share the Chicago connection, however Rivera being the coach of the Panthers, and Clemson being so close to Carolina, makes me lean towards Panthers over Cardinals.
Also, let's not forget the whole Huey P. Newton, Cam Newton, and '66 angle. Speaking of which, Fred Hampton, a Black Panther, was shot to death in Chicago, IL, on 12/4/69.
