First, Tom Jackson just said that Alabama should be made the 33rd team of the NFL.
Then, Chris Berman chimed in about how strange it is that Tom Coughlin might earn his 183rd win today in what will likely be his last game as the head coach of the Giants, matching the win total for the man who brought him into the league, Bill Parcells. Chris Berman, after discussing it then remarked, "Strange how things work like that in this league".
It makes me laugh, there is nothing strange about it, this is how the league is rigged, by the numbers, with numerological tributes left and right. With regards to 183 win, it is the '83' that is significant in regards to 'football'.
Football = 6+15+15+20+2+1+12+12 = 83
I'm still laughing about how Pete Carroll was hired with 33 wins and 31 losses as the head coach of the Seahawks, replacing Jim Mora Jr., who departed the Seahawks with a career coaching record of 31 wins and 33 losses. No coincidence.
