33 47 | Is Pitcher Jim Miller an Inside Joke for MLB Owners?

A half hour ago I realized Jim Miller was called up to the Yankees on September 7, 2013, and on this same day he threw a pitch to Xander Boagerts that turned into Boagerts first major league home run, and one that helped him turn the corner after a very lousy MLB debut that started a few weeks earlier.  At first, just the numerology of the names was curious.
  • Jim = 1+9+4 = 14
  • Miller = 4+9+3+3+5+9 = 33
  • Jim Miller = 14+33 = 47
In Jim Miller's first season in the Major Leagues, he played with the Oakland Athletics, appearing in 33-games, and recording 44 strikeouts.
  • Athletic = 1+2+8+3+5+2+9+3 = 33
  • Is this an insight into how the Athletics find some of the MLB's best talent year in and year out, that typically ends up on bigger clubs, such as the dominant title contenders in the AL and NL?
  • Think Yoenis
  • Yoenis = 7+6+5+5+9+1 = 33
Also, Boagerts, coming off of the snide, against the Yankees, as a member of the Red Sox.
  • Boagerts = 2+6+1+7+5+9+2+1 = 33
So I decided to look more at Jim Miller's career, to see if anything notable stood out.  Let us use the following from Wikipedia as our guide.
Colorado Rockies[edit]

Miller was drafted in the 8th round of the 2004 draft by the Colorado Rockies. During his time with the Rockies organization, he was a 3 time minor league all-star.[1]
Baltimore Orioles[edit]

Miller was the main prospect for the Baltimore Orioles in the trade sending Rodrigo López to the Rockies. He was called up on September 1, 2008 to the Orioles, and made his major league debut against the Boston Red Sox on the same day. Later that month, Miller pitched in the second to last game at the Old Yankee Stadium, going down in history as the last pitcher to hit a batter at that stadium when he hit Derek Jeter in the bottom of the ninth inning.
Return to Rockies[edit]

The Rockies re-signed Miller for 2011 season on a minor league contract. He made his Rockies debut that year on September 7 against the Arizona Diamondbacks.[2]

Oakland Athletics[edit]

After the season, he signed a minor league contract with the Oakland Athletics. He made his Athletics debut on April 25, 2012. He was the winning pitcher in that game.
New York Yankees[edit]

Miller was claimed off waivers by the New York Yankees on November 30, 2012.[3] After spending the year in Triple-A, his contract was selected from the Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders on September 7, 2013.[4] He made his Yankee debut on this eve.  He was designated for assignment on September 11. He was outrighted to Triple-A Scranton on September 16, 2013.
Isn't it an interesting career?  What in the world is really going on with Jim Miller?  Two debuts late in the season, on September 7?  And if you've never seen Jim Miller hit Jeter, it was a story that stuck around for a little bit; you can watch it just below.  As you do, keep in mind the numbers, 33 47.
