This word repent has a lot of pull for a lot of people, I think mostly because Jesus says to do so in the bible. Where else does this word really get used? It seems to stir up fear and leads many to an empty religion. Regarding the word itself, It's not a bad thing to change for the better after being conscious stricken, and I believe some genuine people have changed for the better leaps and bounds successfully, with or without faith in God. But it seems to me, many people who "repent" of their ways and try to live a life for God as they see it because the bible says to, even if genuine, end up very closed minded, arrogant or both.
