46 50 57 58 277 | Mike Fiers, first no hitter of 2019 MLB season, May 7, 2019

Read about the death of Jim Holt of the Athletics here:

As I've taught about for years, the first no hitter of the season is always a World Series riddle.

No wonder then the first no hitter of the season came on May 7,  or 5/7, like 57, by Mike 'Fiers', in his 57th career win.

This 'no hitter' came against the 'Reds' 46-weeks and 4-days after his birthday.

I need to think about this riddle more...

By the way, Mike Fiers plays for Oakland and wears #50.

  1. It's also 1 month 8 days, or 5 weeks 4 days to his upcoming birthday.
    18, 54... Baseball...

10 Months 22 days after his previous birthday. The World Series starts this year on 10/22. No hitter was 168/169 days before 10/22. 169 is 13 squared.

Anything connecting to Seattle in this?

  3. I don't know if it has any relevance to Fiers's no-hitter, but Edwin Jackson was recently traded from Oakland to Toronto. Edwin Jackson is currently tied for most teams played for in a career with 13 and if he makes Toronto's major league roster he'll have played for 14 teams in his career and break the previous record of 13.
