57 | The death of Judith Charles, July 1, 1935 - May 5, 2019

Today, May 5, 2019, my grandmother passed.  What I'll always remember about her passing is that I drove down to see her this weekend, and was going to visit her this afternoon, but before I got there, my dad called me to let me know she had died.  I was about 2 hours from making it to see her.

RIP.

  2. My deepest sympathies go out to you & your loved ones ... every person's passing leaves a hole in our world, & so often we don't realize how great that empty space will be until suddenly one day it's there.
You were lucky to have had her for so many years, & I hope that means you have some happy memories & great stories to pass on to another generation. There's not a person who's ever lived that didn't at some point envision their name being mentioned -- long after they've gone. By writing about her tonight, you've helped ensure that many, many years from now, someone -- an archivist, researcher, biographer ... or perhaps many people, curious about the "Old Days" -- will stumble across this post.
These strangers from the future will learn that Judith Charles was once here ... they'll see who she was to you ... & they'll know that her passing meant enough to you, that you chose to share it with your followers. And that's a pretty cool legacy.
I'm sorry for the loss of your grandmother, my friend ... :D ;D

    1. Well that's not very nice. My grandmother always said, "Better to remain silent & be thought a fool, than to open your mouth & remove all doubt." But her maiden name summed to: 93 eo, 39 red, 123 ro, 42 rr ... so I guess that must mean my whole family are Secret Squirrels. :D ;D
