At the end of the day these are the stories that make Americans go, "Well, I'm happy I don't live in Mexico." while in the same action justifying their miserable existence in the United States.  Notice you'll never hear a story about anything like this happening in the United States, even though it does happen.

Of course, she recently had a baby, adding to the drama of this very likely contrived story.
