Pope John Paul I, who died in September of 1978, was only Pope for 33 days, when he mysteriously died. If you have not read about the significance of the number 33, please do so here. His tenure as Pope is the shortest in the Catholic Church's very long history. The facts surrounding his death are of different distortions and perspectives, so it is hard to gather what truly happened to the man. In addition to these complications, there are a number of different theories on why he may have been assassinated due to money corruption, and power management. At the time of his death, it was reveled the Catholic Church was being exposed for financial fraud in the billions of dollars.
