33 96 | Sandy Koufax and Clayton Kershaw's No Hitter Numerology

Sandy Koufax was born Sanford Braun, and would not take on the last name Koufax until later in his life when his mother would remarry.  He was born December 30, 1935, or 12/30/1935.
  • Sandy = 1+1+5+4+7 = 18/27
  • Koufax = 2+6+3+6+1+6 = 24/33
  • Sandy Koufax = 20+24 = 42/51/60
  • *Koufax = 11+6+3+6+1+6 = 33
For the years 1955-1966, notice the '55 and '66, he would be the star pitcher of the Brooklyn and Los Angeles Dodgers; transitioning with the team as it moved from the east to west coast.  In his time with the team, he became the first pitcher to throw four "no-hitters" and also pitched the eighth "perfect game" in the history of the league.  He also racked up three Cy Young Awards and one League MVP.

In total, Sandy Koufax is considered one of the greatest Jewish athletes of all-time, for any sport.  In his playing career as a major league pitcher, he won the World Series four times, and recorded two World Series MVP honors.  Today he is commemorated in the Hall of Fame, located in Cooperstown, New York.
  • Cooperstown = 3+6+6+7+5+9+1+2+6+5+5 = 55
Koufax wore the number 32 for his playing career, a number that matches the numerology of the name "Sanford".
  • Sanford = 1+1+5+6+6+9+4 = 32/41
  • Braun = 2+9+1+3+5 = 20
  • Sanford Braun = 52/61

Notice his date of birth.
  • 12/30/1935 = 12+30+19+35 = 96
  • 12/30/1935 = 1+2+3+0+1+9+3+5 = 24
  • 12/30/1935 = 12+30+(1+9+3+5) = 60
  • 12/30/35 = 12+30+35 = 77
This post was inspired by Clayton Kershaw's no hitter thrown on June 18, 2014.
  • 6/18/2014 = 6+1+8+2+0+1+4 = 22
  • Kershaw wears #22
